Lore

In August 1941, Private Lucas Riggs is in Tobruk, Libya. After a failed ambush, he and Private Desmond "Des" Wilmot uncover intelligence on Rommel and destroy a German depot, but are detained for insubordination. During the Battle of El Alamein, Riggs disobeys orders to retake a hill, resulting in Des's death. Frustrated, he punches Major Hamms and faces imprisonment.

Heroes

In Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Campaign, five heroes and thats Richard Webb, as well as playable characters Arthur Kingsley, Polina Petrova, Lucas Riggs, Wade Jackson and form an international squad toward the end of World War II to completely wipe out the Axis threat before they can escape with a path toward resurgence. These Operators also represent a third of the 12 playable characters available at launch within the game’s Multiplayer, which had its Beta period back in September.

New mechanics

The team introduced new gameplay mechanics to enhance the player experience in "Call of Duty: Vanguard." These innovations aimed to engage players in fresh ways and push the boundaries of the franchise.
